Welcoming Spring with the colour green! It is the colour of nature after all! Its popping up all over the place in my home. This is just a taste. Ill show you a new rug we purchased with olivy tones in the next post but until then.. Enjoy our wreath! This is a wreath we purchased from Homesense with faux grapes. I layered the small wreath for added texture and visual interest.
The topiary was a Kijiji find and that oil rubbed bronze planter used to live inside our bathroom cabinet as a garbage can. Letès just say it was a very decorative garbage can.. ha ha! It has now been washed and repurposed!
I forgot to take a wideshot so Ill update the post in a few hours!

Spring Tea Party TableScape
To welcome spring into my home, I hosted a small lunch for a few friends complete with fine china, snacks and teas for the wonderful afternoon. I baked up a storm the few days before ending up with a variety of treats for the ladies including homemade apricot biscotti, cucumber sandwiches, cheddar cheese scones and fresh green salad with a mint cucumber dressing. Everything was fantastic, the afternoon ended abruptly but thats a story for a whole another day. Today I would like to show you the tablescape of this afternoon.I played Michael Buble and Adele for the afternoon. Both music artists that I really love.
So without further ado: here is the tablescape, I apologize that I did not take many photos of the food. That thought slipped my mind after I had set the table.
I used cork board for the placemats to continue the natural texture from the wicker basket. |
With all of that caffeine consumption, we were sipping on water with cucumber slices to rehydrate. The cucumber was refreshing!
Here's the table setting, faux grape twists as the napkin rings, damask printed plates from Bella Luxe and some silverware for that extra special look.
We started the afternoon with apricot biscotti and mint tea! |
I love these plates! Damask silver detail! |

Jadore Home 5: Banquette Seating
I don’t know one person who doesn’t love sitting in a booth
or banquette at a restaurant. They have a much more cozy feel than a simple dining chair.

DIY Grommet Curtain Panels
Our bedroom used to don forest green crushed silk tap top panels for about two years before our recent change to the lighter coloured grommet panels. Now that I look back, the room used to look smaller and more dingy definitely not as posh as I feel it is now. The new lighter, brighter and updated look is still functional because we have a thermal lining in the back along with the 2 inch blinds that keeps most of the light out of the room during the day and keeps the cold out during the night
