J'adore Home 4: Room Dividers

Why are room dividers on my mind? I saw a DIY version using old records and contact paper and thought this was an ingenius idea. Some room dividers are art in itself, no need for a painting when your room is divided by a beautiful lattice or an industrial style bookcase.

I'm all for open concept living, I really enjoy it and plus with a toddler running around all day, its great to have good sightlines for when the little guy is hiding behind a chair or getting into the bookcases in the living room. But who doesn't love a room divider? Sure the smaller ones are practical and convenient because of easy transport and small commitment but there are other room dividers that arent quite so movable but oh-so-beautiful. Its much more of a commitment to install one of these bad boys but it will definitely make a statement.

The following are some of my favorites from the web.

I feel this one is an improved and modern version of the hanging beads. It is just so elegant! I love the dark frame juxtaposed with the delicate beading.

Lattice anyone, I love the design. For a much more affordable version, Ive seen people use the Expedit Shelves from Ikea which hits all the same chords. à

Some can even serve a practical function, the queen of design Sarah Richardson herself used a pair of drapes suspended from the ceilingin a basem, eent to hide away all the kid clutter when the time comes for the family to hang out in the media room. Beautifully designed! and look at that fabric, its like a big textured art canvas!
